We are searching for a Lead User Experience Engineer to join our team.

We are open to remote employees, preferably in the Tri-state area.

Reporting to a Manager of User Experience, the Lead User Experience Engineer will be responsible for providing leadership in rapid HTML prototyping to explore commercial hypotheses, in addition to driving continuous product improvements through lean experimentation and front-end development best practices.

In this role, our Lead User Experience Engineer will play a crucial role in defining responsive web interactions and communicating technical feasibility insights during design phases, ultimately serving as a liaison between design and development.

Friendly collaboration and clear communication are essential for this position in addition to prior experience collaborating with UX designers and various product development roles.

Key Responsibilities: * Explore commercialization hypotheses with UX peers through user-test planning and functional prototyping using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript * Actively participate in UX reviews and design-thinking sessions to offer technical feasibility feedback to peers, with recommendations on design system pattern reuse, pattern-mapping, and inclusive design best practices * Present interactive prototypes to business stakeholders, UX peers, and production developers to communicate interactions and design direction * Coordinate and implement timely customer improvements with production development teams * Advocate for semantic HTML best practices and inclusive design * Author guidelines to establish new conventions as needed * Communicate unique design patterns to core design system team to maximize development efficiency * Help facilitate workshops with UX colleagues and business stakeholders to elicit requirements, brainstorm solutions and gain consensus Key Requirements: * 7+ years of experience specializing in front-end web development * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively * Experience collaborating with various UX and product team roles * Ability to lead technical conversations * Adaptable and open to learning new technologies * B2B web software application development experience * Experience prototyping functional concepts for interaction design exploration, user testing, or alpha/beta application testing * Expertise interpreting research data and web analytics * Ability to lead projects and facilitate the work of Senior or Junior UX engineering roles * Experience working in distributed, collaborative teams and working directly with development groups for the implementation of designs * Understanding of UX design processes, lean, and agile development methodologies Online Portfolio * Github, CodePen, or Blog should demonstrate a track record of developing usable and intuitive responsive web interactions and industry know-how * Candidate should be prepared to speak about the processes used to develop these solutions and the specific role that s/he played in the development of each solution.

Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of git methodologies * Mac terminal / command line / console * Comfortable moving across popular libraries and frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc) * Proficiency writing Typescript or native JavaScript * Knowledge of modern responsive CSS layouts * Solid understanding of different image file types and vector graphics * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Travel requirements Position may require infrequent domestic or international travel (eventually), not on a regular basis.
