Lead Data Business Analyst

Job Summary:

You will provide a broad range of services and activities that align analytical support with Human Resources business initiatives and strategic goals.

Lead complex internal improvement efforts and implementation plans; use historical data, data modeling and forecasting to test the likely outcome of different actions based on data; recommend strategy based on forecast.

Coordinate the information flow among departments to achieve desired outcomes.

You will report to the Human Resources Director.

This position is based in Atlanta.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors and select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

    Receive little or no instructions on all work performed.

    Analytical assignments vary and may include preparing reports and investigating business performance.

    Engage other stakeholders in collecting feedback and input to work activities.

  • Conduct a broad range of activities that provide specialized professional support to project, program or HR department management.

    Apply knowledge of and experience with team products, services and customers to efficiently and effectively document existing workflows and create new processes.

  • Act as a liaison among the Division’s partners by managing the information flow among business lines, technical staff, and/or service partners.
  • Examine and analyze technical or specialized information to arrive at actionable solutions or recommendations.
  • Lead the effort to resolve problems of moderate to complex scope in which analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors; interpret and evaluate information to develop approaches/solutions to difficult technical and managerial problems; persuade/convince team partners of best outcome(s).
  • Conduct data analysis and create complex dashboards and metric reports.
  • Foster collaborative work environments through meeting facilitation.

    Draw on experience to resolve progressively complex issues and make needed adjustments.

  • Handle ambiguous information and assignments that require individual research and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily processes, identify problems, propose alternatives, provide business application releases and customer testing, and implement solutions.
  • Manage, through delegation and influence, the activities of two or more projects, business processes or functions; may lead or participate in District-wide workgroups.

    Lead teams and projects to promote a collaborative work and team environment.

    Serve as a mentor for guidance on new projects to less-experienced staff.

  • Have excellent oral and written skills.

    Produce written products that are understood, concise, and in a tone and format befitting the message, audience and objective of the writer.

    Express thoughts and opinions verbally to others that are concise and easily understood.

    Present/organize training sessions/project updates/general communications to all levels of staff, management and senior management.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years equivalent experience

Experience: Eight or more years

  • Data Modeling & Visualization
    – Tableau/Power BI
  • Advanced Skills with Microsoft software suite (including Visio and SharePoint)
