Lead Data Analyst, Engineering

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted January 14, 2022.

Cox Communications is searching for a Lead Engineering Data Analyst.

You will develop and maintain the Engineering Data Flow, a tool used to track the flow of data across the ecosystem of applications within Engineering.

You will work closely with team members, stakeholders and boundary partners to develop a reliable, effective and transparent Engineering Data Flow to proactively identify risks to processes or other systems related to the movement of data.

You will also work closely with team members to map current and future state data flows and will contribute to data governance efforts within Engineering.

You will contribute to specific department efforts while collaborating with all other efforts to build a uniform approach to implementing BI solutions, enhance data quality, master data and master list management while meeting business needs.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Develops and proposes long term strategic goals and future state for the Engineering Data Flow, capable of communicating value of data efficiency, effective data architecture and data integrity to stakeholders
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the Engineering Data Flow, leveraging and collecting data from across a variety of internal applications, processes and from key SMEs within Engineering
• Delivers impact analysis, through a comparison of current and future state, focused on identifying risks to changes in data flow or data integrity from the introduction, change, replacement or decommissioning of new systems or processes
• Actively leverages the Engineering Data Flow to identify risks to current state data lineage or processes, duplicative movements of data, proactively identifies opportunities to reduce manual transfers of data as automation candidates and flags data flows that result in improper sources being leveraged as systems of record
• Works closely with application development teams to ensure knowledge of data flows, impact of changes to application or database sources of truth and data accuracy
• Collaborates with boundary partners and stakeholders as necessary and ensures transparency and stakeholder buy in for all deliverables
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Where permitted by applicable law, if you receive a conditional job offer of employment for a role subject to our vaccination requirement, will you be able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or eligibility for a medical or religious exemption
  • 8+ years of experience in a data architecture, data management, data analysis, data science or data analytics role; experience in data governance a plus
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of databases and various platforms and products, with the ability to provide a trusted voice at the decision-making table
  • Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/ETL tools/ software/languages/platforms; Power BI, MS SQL Server, VBA, Excel, Tableau, Oracle, Informatica, Python, R, PEGA, Hadoop, AWS Redshift, etc.
  • Strong communication skills.

    The ability to comprehend and communicate technical findings as they relate to business insights and resulting implications to both technical and non-technical business partners.

    Ability to work in a diverse team

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems or closely related field
