Lead Counsel, Privacy M&A

Facebook is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Counsel to join the Legal Department’s Privacy Team focusing on M&A initiatives, advising on a range of privacy, data protection, and compliance issues related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities.

This position requires business acumen, strong collaborative skills, excellent communication, strategic thinking, and substantive knowledge of global privacy laws.

This role also requires flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with working on numerous M&A projects simultaneously, with large multi-stakeholder teams, often under high pressure with leadership visibility.

You will be working on industry-leading and cutting-edge M&A transactions, ensuring commitment to privacy and managing our compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

• Conduct privacy M&A due diligence and work cross functionally on all M&A related matters for Facebook and its affiliates
• Partner with cross functional partners like Product, Corporate Development, Privacy, Policy, and Integration teams through the lifecycle of M&A transactions
• Support major M&A transactions and complex strategic initiatives
• Support and manage internal M&A and privacy initiatives and policies
• Coordinate and manage outside domestic and international privacy counsel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• J.D.

  degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar

• 5+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience
• Experience with global privacy laws, regulations and privacy programs
