Theprimary responsibility of this role is to provide a service for the softwaredevelopment aspects of Propulsion and APU projects which must obtain commercialcertification.

This includes thecreation and maintenance of standard processes and work, priority lists,checklists, metrics tracking, organizational artifact repository, training, andcommunication.

Theservice includes assuring that each project:

Key Responsibilities

  • Embraces and implements Requirements-Based Engineering approach, standard work (processes and tools), and the ongoing need for continuous improvement.
  • Creates and provides standard work and command media that is accessible.

    Enables operating system (process and tools) for Cert compliance plans, execution, and reporting/closing.

  • Provides document templates/guidance and associated schedule which satisfies the regulations and meets the project objectives.
  • Supports management of certification documents for smooth and efficient flow.

    This includes scheduling, prioritization, and tracking across projects throughout the project lifecycle in support of the project’s business objectives.

  • Act as an interface between project COE’s showing of compliance and the certification authority in the finding of compliance.

Inorder to consistently execute the primary responsibility, the certificationoffice role is also expected to:

  • Build a highly collaborative and rewarding environment/relationship with the Project COEs, supporting COEs, internal ODA group, and external regulators.
  • Establish standard work in support of the certification process, to improve productivity and compliance demonstration quality.
  • Track document quality metrics, together with the ODA group and project teams, and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Teach the engineering organization the process and associated standard work, applicable ODA/TSO manual “sections”, and the certification process.

    Supports creation of training materials.

  • Support creation of a Certification Instruction Manual (living document), associated APs, AGs, and other artifacts (new and revisions), and Certification Management Operating System for APU and Propulsion COEs.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering using DO-178 processes.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1 year Experience in defining/decomposing software high-level and/or low-level requirements.

    and or the verification of high and or low level requirements

  • Due to export restrictions must be US Citizen or lawful permanent resident.

WE VALUE

  • MS in Computer Science, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in defining, developing, testing, and qualifying gas turbine engine control systems and associated hardware/software that includes DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254 environments.
  • DOORS/Java Scripts experience
  • Gas Turbine Engine Test experience including planning, instrumentation, test execution, and reporting
  • APU and Propulsion engine experience
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to achieve objectives within resource and time limitations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively and cooperatively in a matrix environment supporting business objectives.
  • History of building positive working environments, strong teams, peer group and customer respect.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and skills including planning, risk assessment, problem solving, decision making.
