Laser OperatorJob DescriptionB: This position requires a 3-3-1 schedule of B Team (6pm-6:30am).(Team B Schedule) which includes:Week 1: 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)Week 2: 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday)Includes: 80 Hours of Holiday Pay per year, 80 Hours of Vacation accumulating bi-weekly per year, 40 Hours Sick accumulating bi-weekly per year.Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.
Sets up and operates computer-numerical control (CNC) machine to cut and fabricate metallic parts.Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and references points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine.Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed.Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.Other duties as assigned.Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills & Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

– able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance.Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.High School Diploma; up to 3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienceMath Skills – decimals, percentages, fractions
– geometry and trigonometry is a plus.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars.Prior CNC operator experience helpful.Basic Computer Skills
