Job Summary

The Laborer operates for general labor tasks at the plant. Must be legible and accurate on all documentation.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Follow GMP’s and maintain a clean area.
• Help maintain steady flow of material through process.
• Help control flow of material through process to finished goods storage.
• Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
• Report any unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor/management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in food production edible or inedible environment preferred.
• Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills. Follows direction
• Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
• Able to work in cold damp environment.
• Must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, bend, crawl as well as push/pull items while working in a fast-paced environment of varying temperatures and with possible slippery surfaces
• Ability to deal with problems involving equipment or various situations.

Physical Demands

• Must be willing and able to frequently stand, walk, bend, craw, kneel, balance as well as push/pull items while working in a fast-paced environment of varying temperatures and with possible slippery surfaces
• Occasionally push, pull, up to 100 lbs. with both arms
• Occasionally lift up to 80 lbs. with both arms.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out at a plant location with high heat and/or cold temperatures.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all published DII and Facility-specific CGMPs.

Food Safety Reporting

• Immediately report any Food Safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor.

Provision for Coverage

• Coverage provided by Shift Supervisor or designee during absence.
