The Role

Are you a recent college graduate with a field of study in  Business, Communications, Engineering, Math or something similar, and seeking a career in manufacturing?  Do you possess intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Excel? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are a leading provider of products into the gift, loyalty and entertainment markets, looking to appoint a Job Planner to plan all aspects of the job to ensure job specifications are correct, necessary materials are available, and determine the most efficient way to successfully produce the job according to the budgeted (sales) amount.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with Sales, PM’s, Scheduling, Production, Shipping for off-site purchases and Accounting so the above functions can be executed properly.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Job Planner include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow projects through all phases of manufacturing and shipping.
  • Work with internal teams to verify correct information is provided on job ticket.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and create POR’s for material needs of stock, specialty items, outside services and supplied materials (if any).
  • Work with scheduling department to verify schedule.
  • Monitor and communicate milestone status to customer.
  • Create planning estimate if job is quoted from price grid.
  • Produce layout sheets for multi design jobs.
  • Generate job tickets.
  • Ensure all job specs, pricing, and shipping instructions are in place prior to releasing to scheduling and production.
  • Be available to work mandatory overtime as needed to meet customer needs.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Job Planner are:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literate, must be able to work within PLI’s ERP system, intermediate to advanced MS office skills are required (Word & Excel).
  • Print and/or Card production coordination experience is highly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment/ understands sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail and time management.
  • Work well independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer Focus.
