Duration: 12+ months (High Possibility of Extension).
Job Description:
- Represent Company within the Stockroom and provide superior service
- Receive new chemical inventory and properly store or deliver
- Check and maintain common stock chemical inventory in labs and stockrooms
- Check and collect chemicals from recycling and disposal bins in laboratories
- Periodically update the chemical inventory by scanning all personal chemicals in laboratories
- Identify and correct discrepancies in the chemical inventory database, such as chemical name, quantity, etc.
- Support researchers by weighing and dissolving aliquot samples
- Assist with the maintenance and operation of utility gases
- Analyze solvent quality by using a gas chromatography mass spectrometer
- Work on multiple projects and manage various priorities with timelines
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Entry level position, 0-3 years of experience
- Lab support experience is not required
- Superior customer service skills
- Can work independently
- Computer savvy
- 80/20 bench facing to computer
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs with proper engineering tools
- Day to day: Data entry of all the Company’s chemicals into the database, “team provides office supplies (chemicals); stock supply and management”; Return chemicals to throw away or repurpose.
- Interact with customers as Company’s stockroom representative to maintain and grow relationships; provide the highest level of customer service.
- Candidate will receive proper training as necessary, including lab safety training and hands-on/online
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED or B.A. (or equivalent degree) with 0-3 years of relevant work experience
- Must have a high level of ability to pay attention to detail and to demonstrate technical skills
- Be able to exercise independent judgment to optimize processes for better results
- Self-motivated with strong customer service skills and capable of learning to apply new skills after training
- Have strong reading, writing and verbal communication skills and be able to follow detailed instructions
- Strong analytical ability on technical and operational trends and deviations from standards
- Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office skills
Roles related to the logistics of raw materials, finished products and parts. Activities focus on inventory management, material handling and planning, logistics and delivery to the customers. Includes the development and implementation of policies and processes, and developing supply chain designs, models, and processes. Administers and operates the organization’s warehouses, ensuring that inventories are secure, properly identified and readily accessible to authorized personnel including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.
