Inventory Analyst

Job Description:

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for driving inventory optimization and materials planning excellence through analysis and ownership of item master planning parameters, MRP results evaluation, and production planning review and management.  This position supports engineered manufacturing operations for $120M in annual revenue with as many as 49,000 active item masters.

Requirements

• Analyze statistical inventory data and forecasted production planning information to determine optimal inventory strategy by item number.
• Own, review & update planning parameters for all item masters in accordance with the ABC/XYZ categorization and product inventory and planning strategies.
• Review MRP exception messages to determine inventory and item master planning adjustments required to fulfill the production plan.
• Evaluate changes in product demand forecasts and develop plans to resolve overstock and understock of all inventory items.
• Partner with Production planners to evaluate production capacity planning and ensure that the inventory and manufacturing supply plan is sufficient to meet the backlog and forecasted demand plan.
• Collaborate with the site CI leader and operations team to analyze physical inventory location and organization throughout the operation to drive optimal inventory handling and storage practices so that internal handling and transportation waste is minimized, and inventory count accuracy is improved.
• Coordinate sales effort with buyers and marketing department, to also include new product launches.
• Collaborate with Commercial Ops and Sales to evaluate current policies regarding Customer Returns, Cancellation and Lead Times

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business-related field.  For internal FLS candidates, 7 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Strong understanding of the function of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS) systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics preparation and autonomous decision making.
• Basic business acumen and understanding of the financial impact of inventory account balances, working capital, and how to influence associated business results.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, with fluency in English, preparation and presentation skills a must.
