Independence Assistance is committed to helping individuals and families maintain their independence and quality of life by providing personal and home assistance services ranging from transportation, housekeeping, shopping, meal planning and preparation, assistance with self-administration of medication and more.
Job Purpose:
As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting individuals in their home to attain personal outcomes and desires by establishing a positive and respectful relationship with each individual served.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Assisting with activities of daily living which may include:
Ambulation
Medication reminders
Personal Care (feeding, grooming, toileting, etc.)
Bathing assistance
Dressing assistance
Transportation and/or transportation arrangements
Toileting
Housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning toilets, sinks, tubs/showers, etc.
Laundry
Shopping and errands
Meal preparation, cooking, and cleanup
Feeding
Pet care
Social stimulation and emotional support
Monitor the safety and well-being of the client
Assist with self-administration of medication(s) by reminding the client when to take medication(s) and observing to ensure the client takes the medication(s) as directed.
Refer to (KRS 216.710(b) 1,2,3 (a,b,c) 4 for correct procedures on assisting the client with self-administration.
Notify supervisor of any signs or suspicions of abuse or neglect against the client.
Support individuals to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Facilitate independence and choice and participation with; activities of daily living; work and productive activities; leisure
Provide care according to clients plan of care
Remain knowledgeable of clients care needs and supports
Follow the plan of care and tasks for support and achievements
Document according to policy and procedures
Operation of vehicles in accordance with company policy, local and state and federal laws
Complete mandatory training as assigned

– $17.00 per hour

Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Caregiving: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Driver’s License with personal vehicle (Required)
CNA (Preferred)
