We are looking for a compassionate Internist to provide long-term, comprehensive care to our patients and manage both common and complex diseases.Primary Responsibilities and DutiesJob Responsibilities* Provide high value primary care to adults* Consult with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.* Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses and conditions that affect the health and wellbeing of adults* Offers age and gender appropriate screening tests to either prevent disease from occurring or diagnose the disease at an early stage* Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury as appropriate.* Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.* Monitor patients’ conditions and progress, and re-evaluate treatments, as necessary.* Determine the need for specialty consultation or a different location of care as appropriate and in line with patients’ medical needs and goals of care* Provide health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.* Coordinate and supervise activities of an interdisciplinary team that may include medical assistants and other support staff* Maintain patient medical records in the appropriate electronic health records in accordance with company policy* Participate and contribute to educational and clinical experiences of any medical students and residents as opportunities arise* Keep up to date with current practices and innovations, as deemed by the appropriate licensure requirements.Qualifications Required:* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree* Graduate of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program* Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine* Current valid and active medical license in the state of HawaiiQualifications Preferred:* High level of interpersonal skills that allow for effective verbal and written communications with a wide variety of clinicians, physicians, patients, affiliated institution, and the general public* Active listener, patient, calm, and compassionate* Perceptive, decisive, and emotionally mature
