n n nn Freenome is hiring an Intellectual Property Counsel.

This newly-created and critical role will lead the preparation and filing of patent applications and trademark registrations, litigation of pending applications and registrations.  nn nn How you’ll contribute: nn Support the development and scale Freenome’s national and international Intellectual Property strategies  Own Freenome’s patent submission pipeline: manage prioritization, timelines, and all aspects of domestic and international filings Perform continuous Intellectual Property risk assessments for new and future technology  Collaborate with research and product development teams to identify and capture high-value innovation  Manage resources for the preparation, filing, prosecution, strategy, and management of U.S.

and international patent, trademark, and trade secret portfolios Manage the disclosure and submission process to ensure the generation of high-quality assets in a timely and cost-effective manner Manage contract reviews and advise on licensing matters Propose solutions to complex IP challenges around trade secrets, patentability, freedom to operate, and defensibility Support Freenome’s overall IP awareness through training, seminars, etc.  Monitor and analyze competitive intellectual property and product offerings nn What you’ll bring: nn Undergraduate degree in the Life Sciences, Juris Doctor required At least five years of in-house patent counsel experience Patent prosecution experience in Molecular Diagnostics Admitted to practice before the U.

Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Attorney and the State Bar of California Experience in identifying patentable technologies and analysis, acquisition, licensing, and handling of third-party demands Experience in managing patent and other intellectual property matters Experience with complex commercial agreements and other legally binding documents used in corporate contexts nn About Freenome nn nn Freenome is on a mission to empower everyone with the tools they need to detect, treat, and ultimately prevent cancer.

These signals include cell-free DNA, methylation of cell-free DNA, cell-free RNA, circulating proteins, and immune profiling derived from thousands of prospective samples.

By developing novel statistical learning methods and applying them to integrate various -omics datasets, Freenome is a leader in modeling specific biological mechanisms to capture disease-dependent signatures, including gene expression, immune response, tumor burden, the tissue of origin, and 3D chromatin structure.  nn nn By building comprehensive discovery datasets and modeling critical biological systems, Freenome is learning what biological changes are present within the blood between a variety of different disease states, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, infections, drug response, and aging.
