Purpose of Job We are currently seeking a talented Injury Examiner for any location in the U.S.
(Sign-On Bonus Available) **Role may offer flexibility to work from home once training has beencompleted.

Ability to provide workspace at home that is safe, suitable for work, and provide a distraction free environment from background noises that may distract a member or internal USAA customer.
Ability to return to campus for training and other meetings as needed so must reside within a daily, reasonable commuting distance to a USAA facility.** Within defined guidelines and framework, responsible to adjust complex bodily injury claims and UIM claims to include confirming coverage, determining liability, investigating, evaluating, negotiating, defending, and settling claims in compliance with state laws and regulations.
Accountable for delivering a concierge level of best in class member service through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice, and empathy.
Job RequirementsIdentify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.Adjust complex bodily injury claims with significant demonstrable injuries (e.g.
traumatic brain injury, disfigurement, fatality) and UIM claims, as well as all auto physical damage associated with those claims.
Identify, confirm, and make coverage decisions on complex claims.Investigate loss details, determine legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and arrive at claim settlement within appropriate authority guidelines.Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions.Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload to keep members and other involved parties informed, provide timely claims status updates.Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate matters for escalation.Partners and/or directs vendors and internal business partners to facilitate timely claims resolution.Serves as a resource for less experienced team members on complex claims.
Minimum Experience:High School Diploma General Equivalency Diploma 4 years of casualty adjusting experience Expert knowledge and understanding of the auto claims contract as well as application of case law and state laws and regulations Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts Preferred Experience:Bachelors degree or higher Military experience or Military affiliation Ongoing Professional Development with a focus on Insurance 6 or more years auto liability/casualty adjusting experience Compensation:USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive.
You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.
The salary range for this position is: $72,900
– $131,400.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Geographical Differential : Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
