Information Systems Technologist I

The Information Systems Technologist I supports the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program (ATMP) contract at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This position primarily supports SRP-DRTS.

Job duties include:

• Provide te chnical expertise in the operation and maintenance of DRTS equipment.
• T rain technicians in the proper procedures to ensure the DRTS is operational for all scheduled training missions.
• Perform the tasks assigned by the Site Manager in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction.
• Assumes duties as a Team Member during “surge” periods or personnel shortages.
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance such as general computer tasks, application loads, disk utilization, system loading and system monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that prevent proper operation, provide technical training and performance feedback to technicians, determine the life-cycle of each component installed in the DRTS instrumentation system.
• Assists in developing and maintaining SOPs, performs system monitoring, analyzing and documenting performance and conducting trend analysis as required.
• Maybe asked to perform other tasks assigned by the Pulau Management Team in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction.
• May serve as assistant Site Lead Ensures the IS networks are fully operational, in compliance with IA and cybersecurity requirements, and available for scheduled rotational support missions.
• Receives trouble calls and analyzes issues to provide resolution.
• Makes accurate, timely and complete entries into the AWARE Management Information System (MIS).
• Manages and maintains networks including configuration, and loading new system software.
• Operate computer workstations and performs Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on equipment.
• Provides functional direction for lower level assistants.
• Manages DRTS hardware and software including the system network and the exercise database.
• Supports quality / ISO, security and safety training programs.
• Safeguards all assigned equipment issued by PULAU Corporation against loss, theft, and damage.
• Will be cross-trained to support other TADSS and may be assigned tasks to support other ATMP contract equipment on the installation .

• Four years’ past experience as an Information Systems Technologist or related position. 
• B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science or Math or four years of equivalent job experience desired.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain post/company driving privileges.
• Must be able to obtain a Government Common Access Card (CAC).  
• Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to read and understand manufacturers’ manuals or technical documents.   
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
