Responsibilities NCI: The Information Security Analyst I supporting Fort Polk LA NEC, develops, maintains, and implements information security standards, procedures, and guidelines. Responsibilities: * Know IA requirements for systems including Army Regulation (AR) 25-2, the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program, and the applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). * Establish and manage architectuaral and Defense-in-depth requirements for IA solutions and participate in the Risk Management Framework (RMF). * Obtain information assurance vulnerability managment (IAVM), system patches, and anti-virus updates from applicable original equipment manfacturer (OEM), industry, and government sources when published; * evaluate each update against system components for operational impact; * and deliver and implement each update to system components throughout the operations and maintenance phase of the system lifecycle * Mitigate vulnerabilities as identified in the local NEC operational standard procedures. * Review updates, SOPs, and local directives and recommend changes to the Government for approval and implementation. * Ensures that systems and organizational database are protected from unauthorized access and use * Monitors systems, identifies threats, and handles disaster recovery * Documents computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests * Encrypts data transmissions and erects firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out tainted digital transfers * Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs * Reviews violations of computer security procedures and discusses procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated * Monitors use of data files and regulates access to safeguard information in computer files * Monitors current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems * Modifies computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status * Performs risk assessments and executes tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures * Confers with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes * Trains users and promotes security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency * Coordinates implementation of computer system plan with establishment personnel and outside vendors Qualifications Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience * 2 – 7 years experience * Secret Clearance * IA Certification: Security+ (IAT I or higher) Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions: * Sitting for long periods * Standing for long periods * Ambulate throughout an office * Ambulate between several buildings About NCI It is the policy of NCI to provide equal opportunity in recruiting, hiring, training, and promoting individuals in all job categories without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected class or category as may be defined by federal, state, or local laws or regulations.
