Bancroft is currently seeking a Tradesman.The Tradesman Multi-disciplined construction tradesperson proficient in planning and providing comprehensive strategic and tactical support for all commercial, healthcare, and residential elements of Bancroft campuses and community locations.
Responsibilities: Read, understand, and interpret technical drawings, sketches, plans, detailed diagrams, specifications and maintenance manuals.Assist with new construction and renovation projects; attend project group and technical meetings.Collaborate with other professionals, including engineers, builders, architects and in-house project teams.Commission, organize and assess the work of contractors.Comply with applicable codes, regulatory requirements, and directives related to operations and safety.Inspect and evaluate potential job sites to determine the resources necessary for project completion; estimate time, materials, and equipment required for jobs assigned.Prepare and maintain records and reports of work performed.Construct, repair, install, and maintain facilities maintenance systems; participate in performing more complex work and maintenance assignmentTrain coworkers in construction, maintenance, and repair methods, procedures, and techniques.Verify the work of coworkers for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.Maintain and repair buildings and facilities including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, drywall, masonry or any combination of trades.Schedule/perform preventive maintenance and other downtime activities to minimize business disruption.Provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service.Perform tests, rounds, and analyze data to assure proper functioning of departmental equipment, in addition to routine building and space inspections to determine needed repairs or other required action.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of four years of hands-on experience in facilities and equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and construction operations.
Successful completion of certified training in skilled and specialized trades preferred.
Special Skills:Proficient knowledge of one or more building skilled trades, methods, and techniques required, with the ability to safely and properly operate various hand and power tools.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and ordinances pertinent to building maintenance and repair required.
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with employees at all levels, external contractors, vendors, suppliers, etc., on a regular basis.
Effective organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills required.
Valid drivers license required in incumbents legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions.
Minimum 18 years of age required.
