· BILLINGS, MontanaDepartment **Veteran Services**Employment Type **Full-Time Regular****_Each day at Volunteers of America, we strive to exemplify our foundational pillar of Servant Leadership and Cultural Values of Communication, Compassion, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence._****Summary/Objective**The Housing Retention Coordinator is responsible for providing best practices in case management to improve the retention of housing by Veterans who have previously participated in a Veteran Homeless Program such as the Veteran Administration’s (VA) Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Program or the VA’s Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV), or Contracted Residential Services (CRS).

This person will also provide best practice case management (10 hours) to veterans in Independence Hall.**Essential Functions**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.+ Provide best practices in case management to help qualified Veterans maintain housing and long-term stability.

This will include but is not limited to:+ Making home visits to Veteran’s homes to monitor housing stability+ Provide and coordinate educational activities related to meal planning, tenant responsibilities, the use of public transportation, community resources, financial management, and the development of natural supports in their communities, including moral injury+ Making referrals to needed services, such as mental health, substance use disorder, medical and employment services+ Participating in case conferencing with other service providers who are working with the Veterans+ Develop client-centered, individual care plans with goals that address barriers to self-sufficiency+ Cultivate relationships with appropriate community resources to ensure necessary referrals for services pertinent to Veterans long term stability+ Enter data into identified data systems in your respective coverage area, provide reports as contractually obligated, and collaborate with Continuums of Care to provide quality, timely, and accurate information regarding any needs of the Veterans.+ Provide best practices in case management with qualified and enrolled veterans at Independence Hall transitional living.+ Performing enrollments+ Weekly case management as defined by the supervisor+ Part of the on-call team of Independence Hall**Competencies**+ Willingness to assist those who have served their country+ Crisis management+ Adept organization skills+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team+ Effective oral and written communication skills+ Continuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and our cultural values**Supervisory Responsibility**This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.**Work Environment**This job operates in an office environment, Veteran homes, and community settings.**Physical Demands**The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**This position is allocated 30 hours to the GPD Housing Retention grant and 10 hours to GPD Transitional housing at Independence Hall.
