Title: Head Varsity Football Coach
Qualifications: Have at least three years of successful teaching experience, preferred.Successful applicant must have the knowledge and ability to teach philosophy, techniques, strategies, rules, and tactics of football.Have such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports To: Principal
Supervises: Assistant varsity coaches, JV coaches, volunteers, or other personnel, if assigned
Job Goal: Caroline High School is seeking an exceptional candidate to lead and develop athletes to compete at a high level in the classroom and also as members of the football team.
The candidate must lead and develop athletes to be accepted to major universities and successfully compete in collegiate athletics at all levels.Candidate must have the proven ability to concurrently instill excellence, model professionalism and sportsmanship, while developing character and the love of competition.Duties include managing a competitive and structured overall football program consisting ofVarsity & Junior Varsity teams.
The Candidate must also offer summer camps and work with other county programs to offer Football clinics.
Performance Responsibilities:

Demonstrate knowledge and ability to teach philosophy, techniques, strategies, rules and tactics of football
2.
Hold high expectations of players and coaches to achieve success and compete consistently in the District and in the playoffs
3.
Maintain a program that complies with the Virginia High School League policies4.
Coordinate with the Middle School football staff to develop a cooperative relationship between the programs.

Institute proper conditioning to build strength and endurance using appropriate activities
6.
Implement structured practice plans and supervise practices and players7.
Supervise locker rooms and buses8.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of first aid and safety to respond to player injuries9.
Demonstrate strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills10.
Assist athletes in college selection and promote athletes to recruiters11.
Derive fundraising initiatives with an active role in the booster club12.
Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to the team13.
Monitor athletes’ school attendance, grades, and personal conduct14.
Conduct off-season conditioning and weight training and football camps.15.
Manage football equipment, including issuance, inventory, and storage in a responsible and cost effective manner16.
Implement player guidelines and policies17.
Communicate expected student behavior related to athletics18.
Ensure enforcement of student discipline in accordance with Student Code of
Conduct and student handbook.19.
Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director or Principal
Terms of Employment: 11 month plus stipend
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the AthleticDirector at the end of each football season.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $5,000.00 per year
