Job Title: Harness Design Engineer Job Location: Sterling Heights, MI Hourly Rate: Negotiable – depending on experience Job Summary: Come join our team We currently have an exciting opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Harness Design Engineer with Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System software experience to work on a Military Vehicle Program.

Job Description: Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.

Determining harness layout through vehicle, branch points for multi-branch harnesses Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence, exposure to harsh chemicals Designing harnesses in Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System software, working specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology Designing harnesses for MIL ground vehicle environment highly desired Working with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX) Working with CAD draftsman to develop released drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams, etc.

Working with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect Working with physical architects to define harness routing channels, space claims Required: Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital Harness System software is required.

Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities Occasional overtime, and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.

Must be able to obtain a security clearance if necessary.

Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.

Strong multi-tasking skills Strong record keeping skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant post graduate work Preferred: Experience designing harnesses for MIL ground vehicle environment highly desired.

Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.

Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.

Experience with NX desirable.
