Grid Line Operator – 2nd or 3rd shift

Grid line operators work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment, and they continually lift, lower and slide copper evaporator components for the duration of their shifts.  Also requires hand dexterity to place evaporator components together prior to final assembly. They work with conveyor conveying equipment, industrial washers and ovens, and miscellaneous fixtures and hand tools to assemble, solder, inspect and repair copper evaporators.

 Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assemble partitions and evaporators; Inspect and perform minor repair of evaporators.
• Produce Evaporators per Safety, Quality and Efficiency standards while working effectively in a team environment.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings instructions and standards.
• Operate the grid oven, washer, conveyor conveying equipment and tube bender within the parameters set forth by the operating manual(s).
• Use various fixtures and hand tools in evaporator assembly. Lift and move tools, parts and material per prescribed methods.
• Perform Waste Treatment procedures as required.
• Follow and comply with all safety rules and practices.
• Complete all needed paperwork and use a computer.

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Successfully complete all training required for certification in the Grid Line Operations within 2 months.
• Must be able to read and work from engineering drawings, instructions, and standards.
• Operate torch for solder repair.
• Read and use measuring equipment.
• Excellent Verbal Communications skills.
• Good Organizational and Multi-tasking skills.
• Operate computer to perform daily job functions.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

• Ability to regularly lift up to 41-lbs unassisted.
• Ability to maneuver fixtured evaporators up to 100-lbs unassisted.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically-demanding, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
