Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Associate Director or designee, the Grants Administrator II, ensures grant related documents are accurately prepared with respect to sponsor and institution requirements. Resource to principal investigators and UMMS staff regarding the timely completion of required documents for institutional approval of grants projects/applications.

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support

  • Aid principal investigators, faculty and UMMS staff with preparation, completion and submission of sponsor and institutional forms related to grant applications.
  • Assist with obtaining and completing required internal documents for proposal review and institution approval.
  • Assist in ensuring all applications meet agency and University published time table and deadlines.
  • Assist Research Administration staff with monitoring award grants and contracts for deliverables working with University staff to ensure completion of requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist Research Administration staff in correcting routing forms and other proposal data in PeopleSoft.
  • Assist Post-award staff with establishment and accurate entry of data into Grants and Contracts database used to track grant applications and awards.

Perform

  • Review award documents to ensure compliance with University policy, as well as State and Federal laws, policies and regulations. Evaluate and/or interpret documents to ensure compliance with award terms and conditions.
  • Review and coordinates submission of compliance documents prepared for Just-in-Time requests to sponsors
  • Review grant budgets for completeness and accuracy per both institutional and sponsor guidelines.

  • Budget forecasting

Ensures

  • Expenses are being paid according to contract

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent Business or related field
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience
  • Broad knowledge of document processing concepts, practices
