The Global Mobility Senior Advisor will act as a strategic partner to the business and provide subject matter expertise on mobility and immigration within the UK, USA, and Canada.
The Advisor will also be responsible for the vendor relationships as well as working closely with assignees on relocation.
As part of the global mobility team, this role will also work on operational project enhancements and projects.
This position can be based in most GHD office locations throughout North America.
Specific responsibilities include: Proactive case management for assignees throughout the international and domestic mobility assignment life cycle including pre-assignment and repatriation and reintegration activities Consult, advise and influence the business on appropriate policy application based on move drivers while minimizing exceptions Support with employee experience enhancements and operational process management Ensure governance and compliance of mobility policy, tax, payroll and ongoing immigration requirements Partner with People Shared services to ensure external relocation providers are completed in a timely basis and act as escalation point Track and report on all mobility moves related to volumes, immigration expiry, annual salary adjustments, and ongoing assignment support (in partnership with internal and external stakeholders) Partner with Global Mobility Leader with Country specific projects to ensure efficiencies and compliance in line with HR strategies Ability to articulate complex immigration and tax matters and provide practical simplified solutions for the business ability in educating our business and staff on mobility approaches and policies Ability to investigate and manage through employee grievances related to mobility moves Experience and qualifications: A college or university degree in a related field or equivalent work experience Significant experience working at a senior level in a complex organization with an in-depth knowledge of global mobility principles, policies, tax and immigration Human Resources experience an asset Extensive understanding of expatriate remuneration, benefits, assignment cost estimates, expatriate taxation concepts, social security concepts, pension, payroll and tax equalization methodology Extensive experience in resolving issues in a highly complex legislative context across countries (primarily expatriate tax for short term and project workers) Ability to build strong local partnership with both global and local vendors, monitoring and auditing performance and compliance Effective decision making and influencing skills related to complex mobility related matters Strong communication and negotiation skills Excellent analytical skills Demonstrated global mind-set and hands on experience working with – UK, Asia, PNG, North America, Australia, Middle East, Chile, Philippines, New Zealand Ability to work efficiently and effectively in situations involving change, shifting priorities and ambiguity Proactive, problem resolution, interpersonal skills and finding creative solutions to unique mobility challenges while staying within program parameters Active participant in mobility knowledge development Team player and takes direction well Experience with global projects and process implementations As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
