Michael Baker International is seeking a mid to senior level Geotechnical Engineer to join the Charleston, WV, office. The primary duties will include performing investigations and making geotechnical engineering evaluations in support of infrastructure project designs. This may include developing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analysis, subgrade evaluation, soil and rock cut slope design, investigation of landslides, and preparation of reports or other documentation. The candidate should be capable of working independently and accurately, with minimal supervision, and be able to give direction to clerical and junior technical personnel. Position requires availability to travel for site related work within the state and nationally. Site related activities are not expected to exceed 50% of the workload.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
MSCE Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related discipline
Registration as a WV Professional Civil Engineer, or ability to attain registration within 6 months
6-8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience or equivalent
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience with typical office software, geotechnical modeling and analysis software
PREFERRED
Scripting language programming
Project Management experience
Experience preparing technical and price proposals
