General Surgeon- Foregut Specialist

Reimagining surgical care for a healthier world Job Description The Division of General Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC)/ Beth Israel Lahey Health ( BILH) is seeking a general surgeon
– foregut specialist who will be primarily based at our main campus in Boston, Massachusetts, and participate in general surgery initiatives at our network hospitals.

The surgeon will hold clinical privileges at BIDMC and its network hospitals.

Applicants must be board-certified/board-eligible in general surgery and must have a record of academic accomplishment in basic or clinical research, systems management, surgical education and/or simulation.

Applicants will ideally offer advanced clinical experience in the comprehensive multidisciplinary management of diseases of the esophagus and stomach.

Candidates with fellowship training or special qualifications in advanced minimally invasive surgery are preferred.

The successful candidate for this position may be considered for Harvard Medical School appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience, training and achievement in the field.

BIDMC, a 672-bed hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, is renowned for excellence in patient care, biomedical research, teaching and community service.

Located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical and Academic Area, it hosts more than three quarters of a million patient visits annually in and around Boston.

The medical center is clinically affiliated with Joslin Diabetes Center and is a founding member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.
