6th level to 7B or 7th level to 7A) will be based on experience and qualifications.The Advanced Vehicle Development (AVD) Industrial Engineering (IE) team supports global decoupled engineering activities and future vehicle programs in the early stages of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).Assignments are of a difficult and ambiguous nature and involve considerable creativity and initiative while working under the general direction of a supervisor.Key Job Elements Support Decoupled engineering activities related to optimizing future component designs and manufacturing requirements/processes: Complete Labor analyses & impact assessments to promote optimized, balanced solutions.Maintain Bill of Material (BOM) row knowledge, complete analyses & conduct BEC benchmarking (internal & external).
Continually refresh Best of the Best for BEC documentation.Support Global BEC Sub-Council and Initiatives.Provide education related to BEC, vehicle assembly plant, and metrics.Provide input to drive improvement in product design, process design, and overall business cases.Drive BEC Reduction & Design for Assembly Workshop Processes Leverage lessons learned and analyze Program BOM row content to identify high quality ideas to optimize designs for Assembly, including BEC and cost .Support GMNA BEC workshops & actively participate inthose lead by the other GM regions (requires occasional non-standard work hours).Support GMNA Vehicle Programs :Develop BEC Status, Hours Per Unit, and Headcount Estimates for Manufacturing Planning Studies.Provide IE Expertise and support to ME Centers, Manufacturing Strategies & Planning, ManufacturingFinance, and Product Engineering.Evaluate Program Content Sheets & compile data to supporta collaborative BEC target setting process.Perform Labor Studies for various what-if scenarios being studied (make vs buy, design alternatives, etc).Execute Homeroom IE RASI responsibilities by effectively engaging IEs in other GM global regions.Maintain a high level of customer responsiveness related to study completion & data reporting requirements.
