Full-Charge Bookkeeper duties and responsibilities broken down:
PAYROLL:
– Weekly payroll of 200 + temporary and full-time employees
– Benefits deductions
– 401(k) contributions
– Knowledge of tax forms
– 1099 filings
– Maintain commissions
– Child support
– Unemployment and worker’s compensation
– W-2s
– Payroll taxes
BANKING:
– Perform daily bank reconciliations
– Cash forecast
– Make deposits
– Void checks
BILLING/INVOICING:
– Enter weekly invoices into Quickbooks
– Send out invoices
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:
– Maintain daily AP Aging
– Input payable into Quickbooks
– Cut checks
COLLECTIONS/ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE:
– Receive payments in Quickbooks
– Weekly collection calls on overdue payments
ACCOUNTING:
– Perform month-end close
– Monthly accruals
– Knowledge of the G/L and how the journal entries impact the BS and P&L
– Budgeting/forecasting
– Monthly sales & use tax filings
– Understanding of accrual vs. Cash basis
– Work with external CPA to perform year-end tax planning and returns
– Maintain fixed asset schedules
SOFTWARE:
– Strong Microsoft Excel required
– Quickbooks required
– Paylocity
– Bullhorn
