MISSION / SUMMARY: Responsible for managing carrier freight payable errors and exceptions escalated by third-party freight payment providers.
The position will maintain carrier rates in multiple platforms to ensure the correct rates are available to the transportation team to execute.
Update Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to include carrier set up, rate entry, route guide maintenance, and other responsibilities as required.
JOB FUNCTIONS:Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
Manage compliance with all established freight pay processes and providers to ensure accurate transportation expenditures with contracted transportation providers.
Manage the documents, processes, and controls of freight payment/audit system and ensure said documents, processes, and controls are updated to comply with corporate policy.
Provides audit support in detecting payment errors that will lead to vendor charge-backs.
Manages the vendor chargeback process, ensuring all charge-backs are processed accurately Communicate effectively with internal/external customers, while maintaining good working relationships with all parties.
Directly works with carriers to improve billing accuracy.
Work with the logistics management team to ensure the transportation team and carriers follow billing procedures to meet audit requirements.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports as required by the Operations and Sourcing teams.
Maintain rate tables, route guides, carrier setups, and other tasks in TMS and logistics sourcing tools.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with Transportation Management Systems (MercuryGate, SAP, or others) preferred.
Experience in freight payment, audit, or collections preferred EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook SPECIFIC SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use technology to solve business problems.
