FP&A Senior Analyst, G&A

This is what you will do:

Alexion Pharmaceuticals is seeking candidates for an FP&A Senior Analyst position within its G&A FP&A team, based in Boston, Massachusetts.

The G&A FP&A team provides overall financial planning and analysis, decision support, and finance operations support to all of Alexion’s corporate center functions.

The FP&A Senior Analyst – G&A role is a key member of the FP&A team, reporting to the Director of Enterprise FP&A.

This position will support the G&A FP&A Team prepare consolidated annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analyses for the G&A functions.

It will be responsible for providing incisive value-added financial analysis and commentary, facilitating effective decision-making, and aiding in collaboration across the finance teams and with stakeholders across the company.

You will be responsible for:

  • Actively supports the G&A FP&A Team during the monthly close, monthly forecasting cycle, and yearly budgeting cycle
  • Prepare periodic reporting.

    Monitors performance against budget investigates variances, and initiates corrective actions with FP&A functional leads

  • Maintains up to date financial data structure used in the financial systems for all corporate functions
  • Supports the development of new reporting tools and data views to enable sound business assessments and facilitate decision making
  • Ensures data integrity in the company’s financial systems (Anaplan, Qlik, SAP, Coupa, BI, and others) and works with Accounting, IT, and FP&A to validate or correct any data anomalies and/or issues
  • Ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as requested

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in planning and analysis or related corporate finance analysis position
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint modeling skills and experience with the design and functionality of financial accounting, planning, and reporting systems
  • Ability to develop strong partnership/team building relationships with the business and across functions, and comfortable operating in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrates initiative maintains a positive attitude, and is a self-starter
  • Demonstrates internal client service mindset and project management skills, including the confidence to escalate issues in a timely fashion and an accountable culture/system of quality control and assurance
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities with a strong desire to make a positive impact on the business performance.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.

    As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Experience in working with Anaplan, Qlik, SAP, Coupa, and BI
  • Capable of designing and implementing systems and data structures effective for automating reporting and analysis solutions
