Job Description:Design and/or oversee design of low-noise, high-performance analog audio, analog video, and mixed-signal analog-digital circuitry, using discrete devices as well as ICsDesign and/or oversee design of high-power audio amplifiers, applying linear and/or switching topologies, using discrete devicesDesign and/or oversee design of voltage regulators, applying linear and/or switching topologies, using discrete devices as well as ICsDesign and/or oversee design of digital audio and digital video circuitry, applying various DSP, PLL, HDMI, A/D, and D/A devicesDesign and/or oversee design of digital control circuitry, applying high-speed serial interfaces such as SPI, I2C, and I2S; and applying various embedded microcontrollers, FPGA, CPLD, and discrete logic devicesDesign and test products to meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), safety, and regulatory requirements (UL, CSA, CE, etc.); resolve compliance issuesEnter schematics; lay out PCBs using best practices for low noise, high speed, and high-power applicationsBuild and help source materials for prototypesDesign and conduct real-world tests for electrical, thermal, and mechanical integrity; verify performance and reliability of designsDevelop test plans and procedures; provide initial production supportManage the day-to-day efforts of a small team of analog and digital hardware engineersMonitor progress of development projectsWork closely with Software Engineering and Director of Engineering to coordinate complete system design, delegate tasks, and conduct design reviewsMaintain/oversee maintenance of engineering documentationAnalyze, evaluate, and make design changes or improvements to existing products, possibly with limited access to original design documentationInterface with procurement, vendors, and contract manufacturersSkills & Qualifications:B.S.

in Electrical Engineering, M.S.

preferredMinimum 7 years experience and/or knowledge in low-noise, high-speed, and high-power analog and mixed-signal system design, testing, and PCB layout practices.Experience with integrated circuit design, Altium designer, analog/digital, analog design, management, audio, digital design, FPGA design, digital filtering, BLEExperience Level:Expert Level About Actalent:Actalent connects passion with purpose.
