Field Service Engineer

Element Biosciences

This is a Full-time position in San Diego, CA posted July 26, 2021.

Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets.

The Company’s technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.
What will you be doing?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Frequently traveling to the customer site is required .

TRAVEL CAN RANGE FROM 25%
– 80% OF WORK TIME.

· Providing onsite installation, upgrades, updates, repairs, and preventative maintenance service on next-generation sequencers
· Assessing maintenance needs and implement a plan of action for instrument service
· Displaying professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all customer interactions
· Interacting with customers to offer and assist in service contract sales and other service products
· Collaborating with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes
· Following policies that pertain to the handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, car stock management, etc.
· Executing installation, operational, and performance qualification services at customer sites
· Commercial experience is desired, to include direct selling of products and service contracts
· Utilizing service CRM software to accurately document work in a timely manner
· Other duties as assigned
What skills/experience do you need?

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Must be highly motivated and have strong problem-solving ability
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Must have good technical writing abilities
· Must be able to work independently and as a team player
· Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours
· Demonstrated account management skills
· Quickly adapts to change
· Aptitude for learning and understanding computer and IT systems/processes EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED degree with 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical/electrical engineering, biology, chemistry or related field ( an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
