Position Summary:
This role is responsible for providing direction, oversite, reviewing, and participating in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of LGC Genomics facilities. This role will use business efficiency to minimise operating costs while maximising the best use of available space and ensuring that the sites and buildings are safe, secure and meet legislative and environmental obligations.

Essential Functions:
- Respond to and assign facilities tickets in a prompt manner and review the work of staff responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of LGC facilities
- Discuss work to be performed with management staff; plan and implement assignments assist maintenance staff in troubleshooting and performing the more complex maintenance and repair activities
- Train assigned employees in their areas of work including facility maintenance methods, procedures, and techniques Supervise the use, care and operation of facility maintenance tools and equipment; train and instruct employees in the safe operation of facility maintenance tools and equipment.
- Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
- Attend trainings and safety meetings as necessary. Coordinate the activities of contractors as needed
- Monitor performance of contractors to agreed service levels
- Coordination of cleaning contractors and onsite security contractors
- Special projects as assigned
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours if needed
- Ensure that facilities meet EH&S requirements and comply with legal requirements
- Perform related duties as required
Qualifications

Education/Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in facilities maintenance and/or a specific trade.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Use of a web browser.
