Are you looking for a new challenge within 5s principles, Lean concepts, and continuous improvement leadership?Amarr is hiring a continuous improvement leader who will consult, coach and provide direction to process improvement teams (PIT’s) across our nationwide network of distribution centers. This position will be the champion/change agent for helping achieve the continuous improvement strategy. What you will be doing: As the Subject Matter Expert train 5S and Lean tool Champions in distribution center facilities and drive the implementation of 5S towards world class housekeeping. Direct, supervise, implement and support the 5S program Lead Lean cultural shift to achieve continuous improvement strategy goals and objectives Develop and utilize time studies to understand inefficiencies and work to improve processes Determine and work to reduce and eliminate waste (non-value added activities) using appropriate Lean and engineering tools. Design ‘best practice’ layouts for the HUBs and DCs based on material and process flows, TAKT times, Cycle times and best available technical solutions. Responsible for training, scheduling and leading cross-functional teams in Kaizen, Value Stream Maps and other continuous improvement events. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred), or equivalent experience Proven experience with Lean Methodologies and Industrial Engineering in both application and implementation Ability to read/interpret documents (engineering drawings, maintenance instructions, process procedures, etc.) Ability to work on financial business cases for investments in order to gain higher efficiency in distribution centers. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization with a “hands on” approach make high level presentation to the senior management as well as getting ‘hands on’ on the shop floor together with our valuable team members. Able to travel 3 out of every 5 weeks (3/4 nights per week) Comfortable spending extended time on feet, possessing manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
