Join us.The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for an Engineering Specialist for Hydrogen Fuel and Ignition Systems.
This role will be in our Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN facility.
As an Engineering Specialist in the Gas Components Team, you will have the opportunity to develop technology and products for Caterpillar’s next generation of reciprocating gas engines.
You will establish strong ties with engine platform teams while driving strong interaction with the performance and controls teams.**Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:**+ Investigate and create requirements for fuel and ignition systems operating on hydrogen gas+ Create component and system level specifications+ Design and analyze system level performance using appropriate analytical tools+ Collaborate with internal system experts and key industry suppliers to design and source parts+ Validate system performance to ensure it meets specifications+ Follow Caterpillar quality processes**Basic Qualifications:**+ Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum+ 5 years minimum work experience on the design, development, validation / test, or manufacture of engine components and systems+ Strong analytical & problem-solving skills+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently+ Strong leadership, initiative and follow through**Top Candidates will also have:**+ Proven experience in gaseous fuel systems, ignition systems, engine performance, or engine controls+ Experience with GT-Power and/or Matlab-Simulink+ 10 years minimum work experience on the design, development, validation / test, or manufacture of engine components and systems+ Ability to work complex projects with many collaborators+ Passion to innovate, inspire, and grow professionally+ Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment**Additional Information:**+ Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN or Mossville, IL.+ This position may require less than 10% travel.+ This position will close on April 15, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
