Position Summary
The Mortgage Applications Administrator is responsible for the administration, testing, and maintenance of the Residential Mortgage Lending (RML) core mortgage and business applications as well as functioning as the user security entitlements administrator. This position also assists management with enforcement of applicable technology-related policies, standards and procedures. This position reports directly to the Mortgage Applications Portfolio. The following duties are intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform basic needs assessments for end-users based on their customer facing, operational and business requirements. Provide input to vendor support and or internal engineering resources to design technology solutions.
- Manage the internal applications servers, associated authentication servers, communication gateways, ensuring a segregation of duties.
- Assist with the analysis, validation, and installation of upgrades, updates, patches, to assigned internal systems and applications.
- Ensure users are provisioned sufficient, but not excessive, rights and permissions to applications according to position title and are memorialized in policy, standards or procedure as applicable. Manage any applicable limits and authorities as directed by department management.
- Provide support for third-party hosted Software as a Service (SaS) applications ensuring outages, and issues are reported to vendors, management and that end-users are notified using the applicable methods (e.g. Jabber, email, Knowledge Coop, vendor ticketing systems, etc.).
- Maintain an intermediate or above level of proficiency in enterprise-wide infrastructure to include mortgage specific applications
- Assist Management in evaluating requests for new technology related to applications; assess the technology for security, interoperability, supportability, scalability, return on investment, and other factors.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of mortgage origination operations, workflow, and processes.
- Monitor RMLs Service Request and User Maintenance Request queue ensuring that requests involving applications as well as activities shared with Infrastructure are assigned appropriately. Ensure that any requests assigned to this position are handled in accordance with the department SLA and Superior Customer First Service Standards.
- Manage internal application user auditing, authentication, and access controls and ensure that scheduled certifications are completed on time.
- Assist with setting and achieving the goals of the annual department strategic plan.
- Communicate new releases, upgrades, patching, outages and other company-wide events to the impacted audience via the appropriate communication tools (e.g. Knowledge Coop, email, Jabber, Telephone, and Engineers Log).
- Facilitate peripheral support to equipment as assigned in keeping with the standards outlined by the Systems, Network and Infrastructure group. Work closely with vendors and engineer staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues that are above and behind basic support activity.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Four years commensurate experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience
- Five years of mortgage application experience with at least two years in related Help Desk responsibilities. Experience supporting enterprise information technology applications preferred.
- Experience working with Ellie Mae’s Encompass solution preferred.
Knowledge & Communication Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to comprehend, analyze, and effectively communicate business memorandums, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Must possess the knowledge to easily identify issues and potential issues and transfer that knowledge to co-workers.
Analytical & Decision Making Skills
- Must be a motivated self-starter, with strong listening and problem-solving skills, who is able to handle sometimes challenging situations with limited supervision.
- Must have the capability to resolve most customer questions or concerns independently and recognize the need for call escalation.
- Must be able to multi-task and accomplish accurate work that adheres to established processes, procedures and regulations.
- Must possess the ability to independently analyze, prioritize and resolve issues.
- Must remain thorough and detail oriented while performing several tasks concurrently.
Computer/Software/Other Equipment Skills
- Ability to master business-centric applications, with a working knowledge of structured query languages, programming languages, and software implementation best practices.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtualization infrastructure, enterprise security practices, and backup and replication technology.
- Proficient with standard office machinery such as PC (keyboard and ten-key), telephone, printer, and fax/copier.
- Must be able to navigate through computerized and manual resources, in order to identify and resolve problem situations. Must possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Office Suite.
