EQUIVALENTEXPERIENCEDescription/Duties:1st Shift Training Required.PaperworkThe worker is required to study blueprints and shop orders to prepare for the set-up and operation of machines to produce of appropriate parts in size and quantity.
The worker is required to document all aspects of production, including size, quantity, and quality of work, as well as document set-ups and tooling used.Set-UpThe worker is required to study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
The worker is required to perform set-up of all machines.
The worker is required to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
The worker is required to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.OperateThe worker is required to measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
The worker is required to start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance operations.
The worker must make adjustments to the machine controls or control media, as appropriate, to correct any errors.
Changes to CNC programs are performed by the MMII/Set-Up person.Inspection/QualityThe worker is required to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and CMM programs to evaluate accuracy of their work.
The worker must check the first piece machined for dimensions and tolerances before proceeding with the remainder of the order.
The worker is required to continue to inspect parts/perform SPC, as needed, throughout the production/completion of the order.
The worker is required to verify conformance of finished work pieces, to specifications.
The worker is required to confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.MaintenanceThe worker is required to rake chips from machine beds into chips pans, checks and adds oil/solvent when needed, change mats, and any other machine general maintenance, when needed, as directed by the supervisor.Material HandlingThe worker is required to load raw materials into the machine and handle materials that come out of the machine.
The worker is required to handle various tools/inserts/fixtures (machining tools, set-up hand tools, micrometers, etc.) in the set-up, machining, and inspection of various products.
The worker is required to load/unload various materials (machined parts, fixtures, tools, etc.) to/from designated storage areas with various means, including manually lifting/carrying, using carts, using overhead lifts/cranes, using straps/harnesses, using pallet jacks, etc.General RequirementsThe worker is required to assist machine operators in training and in set-up preparation.
The worker is required to perform other duties within the scope of the job assignment as directed by the SupervisorRequirements:Must have experience or formal training in set-up of conventional machines, CNC machining centers, and operation and general maintaining of machining centers.Must be able to read blueprints and routings.Must be able to use precision measuring instruments.Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level.Must have received a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.Must be able to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment.Must understand and follow all rules of safety as defined by the employer and required by all applicable regulations.Work AuthorizationNo calls or agencies please.
