JOB DESCRIPTION: This subfamily is responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating components and processes used in the power generation, manipulation, transmission, distribution, and storage of electricity.
Determines design approaches and parameters.
Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
IMPACT: Provides technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
Serves as a technical lead on large, complex projects.
Mentors and coaches other technical staff.
COMPLEXITY: Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program.
Leads the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.
COMMUNICATION: Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project.
Typically negotiates and compromises to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results.
Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.
May also review vendors’ abilities to support development.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

Target salary range: $125,001
– $150,000.
