This is a corporate role that will manage the design and implementation of new systems and equipment to support our various businesses.
The Design Engineer gathers information regarding business needs and designs new processes, system or equipment to meet needs.
A few key position results include but are not limited to accurate and timely issue identification and resolution of customer breakdowns; quality designs and efficient building of custom machinery, fixtures and tooling; and assist customers with machined replacement parts.
The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented, problem solver with a desire to drive the business through design, can handle multiple tasks at the same time, and a strong customer service focus.
Responsibilities
Designs machines, fixtures and tooling.
Estimates costs for such.
Determines the best, most economical route to fix machine breakdowns for customers.
Determines and requests materials necessary for designing or repairing equipment.
Determines appropriate strength of steel, amount of material, etc.
to create open shop orders and supply material lists for job.
Tracks/Expedites construction of machines, fixtures and tooling through shop to ensure timely manufacturing.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience
Understanding of plant processes and capabilities Good understanding of Solidworks and drawing practices Outstanding organization skills Strong analytical skills Strong problem-solving skills Ability to coordinate work activities and manage multiple tasks and priorities 5 years of experience preferred.
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering preferred or Associates in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years related work experience Machining experience/background a plus
