Tech ADS is a modern data architecture platform transforming how GT&O manages its data.
The goal of Tech ADS is to provide an integrated, controlled, ADS to house the data that is used to run and manage GT&O.
Chief Data Office is seeking a Release Manager to coordinate release and delivery activity for 7 Agile teams involved in the Resiliency/Never Down workstreams.
This highly important work requires an individual with excellent communication and influencing skills and technical background.
Candidate will help coordinate a unified production release between 7 teams and needs enough Technical depth to dive in where needed to help resolve issues, understand and report out issues to Executive leadership.
Other responsibilities include: Manage release scope to ensure adherence to delivery commitments.
Determine release readiness.
Manage toll gates associated with code promotion from lower lane environment through to production.
This includes managing software release dependencies.
Communicate risks associated with late code drops, defects, competing priorities, etc.
Communicate and report release status.
Coordinate release handoff between Development and Testing teams.
Manage the relationship between all release stakeholders.
Provide guidance and risk mitigation for unscheduled and emergency production deployment requests.
Facilitate appropriate approvals.
Coordination of release deployment activities and managing Post Release Production Validation.
Accountable for managing weekly status reporting process that includes chairing weekly release platform meetings, preparing agendas, distributing minutes and communicating relevant decision points.
Post release deployment assessment of success factors focusing on continued process improvement.
Required Skills Previous experience in Release Management or Project Management.
Experience in Application Management, Production Support, or Service Delivery would be a good fit for this role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent critical thinking/analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle – inclusive of both traditional and agile methodologies.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to successfully influence and manage teams without express hierarchical authority.
Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of management.
Desired Skills Working knowledge of software systems, databases, and infrastructure.
Knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change management practices.
SCRUM master and/or experience with practical application of Agile development a plus.
