We are expanding our services, and to support this growth, we are looking for a Managing Consultant to join our Public Health Informatics and Technology business. The part of ICF includes technologists, data scientists, innovation researchers, CIO strategists, public health researchers & evaluators, as well as provides technical assistance services to US Civilian Federal Agencies and their partners, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
We are interested in individuals who can demonstrate a real interest in Data Center Modernization combined with strong project management skills, business development skills, analytical skills and excellent report writing skills.
The position entails managing and contributing to projects by providing Independent verification and validation (IV&V) and Technology Assessment services supporting a transforming Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at CDC. You will be working on multiple projects at a time, interacting with all levels of ICF staff and CDC OCIO stakeholders.
About the role:
· Conduct comparative research and evaluation projects under supervision of a project director
· Manage project team on a day to day basis
· Assign work packages to project teams and quality assure their work
· Support project team on methodological aspects ensuring high-quality research and data collection activities
· Manage day to day client relationships and escalate issues to project director
· Deliver project work within budget
· Provide consultation regarding OCIO data center migration action plans, efficacy, timelines, etc.
· Conduct analysis or assessment of the current internal and external data center environments
· Provide strategy formulation and documentation
· Support strategy execution, where the high-level plan is translated into more operational planning and action items
· Evaluate the ongoing refinement of performance, culture, communications, data reporting, and other strategic management issues occurs
· Contribute on report-writing and presentations
· Attend site visits and to client meetings
· Collaborate closely with other project teams, and external partners and stakeholders
Required experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science related field
· 15 years work experience within the context Infrastructure Technology (IT), Data Center (DC) transformation, migration
· Must have recent Cloud adoption experience within Federal Government Agencies, preferably within operating divisions of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
· Project management experience, including management of project teams
· Business development experience, including leading or contributing to proposals
· Strong qualitative and quantitative evaluation and analytical skills (experience in impact assessments preferable)
· Exceptional writing skills, including editing and proofreading skills
· Excellent oral and written English
· Deep understanding of Data Center migration to Cloud managed service providers and / or colocation services.
· Highly developed, interpersonal skills and self-motivation
· High level of attention to detail and accuracy
