Data Analyst 2 – Remote

As a Data Analyst 2, you will be working with Electronic Medical Records, Billing and other data types that we receive from our health care provider clients.

The analyst will be supporting tier two productions and will be involved with data investigations, application investigations, identifying defects in applications, etc.

A successful candidate for this position will be an analytic thinker, flexible problem-solver, excellent communicator, and team player.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S.

as you take on some tough challenges.

Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:
Will be an expert in Optum Analytics data processing, methodology, attribute logic and product workflows/functionality in order to comprehensively support application users developing innovative healthcare use cases within Optum Analytics Product Suite.

Will drive client issues to resolution by identifying the root of the issue, engaging clients for required feedback, escalating to internal team members (if appropriate) and tracking data fixes or enhancements through to successful release into the product.

Will communicate directly with clients to resolve questions and issues in a timely and consultative manner.

Will understand the data transformation process and work closely with Data Factory team members to ensure end to end resolutions of data improvements.

Will understand healthcare industry priorities and the direct correlation between Optum Analytics Products and issues clients are facing in the market.

Will be a resource for Implementation, Training, and Client Management teams to allow for holistic support of our clients across the Client Services team.

Will escalate Product feedback, issues, and enhancements to the Optum Analytics Product team to encourage appropriate development and growth of products in line with client needs.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or other related field in technology.

3+ years of experience working with healthcare data with one of the following HL7 v2, CCDs, 835s, 837s all means of data transferring from hospital data.

3+ years of experience working with data, analyzing data and understanding data.

3+ years of experience working with SQL or another data analysis language (SAS, R).

If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.

When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas.

In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to query large data sets using SQL and query optimization skills, including PL-SQL or T-SQL.

Familiarity or experience working with AWS/Azure on Cloud or Big Data concepts.

Understanding of clinical processes and vocabulary and basic procedures for working with claims such as de-duplication, reversals, eligibility, etc.

and the lifecycle of a claim.

Experience managing clients or working with clients on tasks like requirements gathering, impact analysis etc.

Soft skills:
Highly analytical, curious and creative.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Strong organization skills, detail oriented, with careful attention to work processes.

Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through hand-offs to other groups.

Enjoys a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to quickly learn new skills.

Ability to analyze user requests, define requirements, investigate and report conclusions.

Ability to communicate complex concepts, verbally and in writing to others, including clients.

Telecommuting Requirements:
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable) Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
