Come connect with us and lets build a better future together.The Senior Technical Operations Video Engineer plays a key role in the availability and support of key video conditional access systems within Cox Communications.
You will provide tier III support, technical leadership, and technical direction to team members and peers responsible for the administration of Cox video lab.
You will also be responsible for providing advanced video systems administration, incident management, service assurance, maintenance, and fix agent support of Cox video control systems, guide applications and application servers, Contour 1& 2, DTAs, CB Video, IP Video, and Centralized Video Services (CVS).Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Responsible to plan/modify/maintain/support Lab Video infrastructure networks onsiteWork with product teams on video platform/architecture initiatives that require network resourcesResponsible for video platform accessibility and availabilityProvides network systems health reporting (availability and reliability)Provides leadership and mentoring to junior staff membersResponsible for escalated support of video control systems and video servicesHandles Tier III escalations lab boundary partnersResponsible for remedy ticket creation, management, and adherence to MTTR, SLAs and OLAsPerforms systemic diagnosis, correction, and/or escalation preserving the Cox video customer experienceProvides software support to Application Development and Product Deployment teamsActs as communications liaison to business partners (education and information)Supports continuous improvement efforts and lifecycle management of video platformPerforms spectrum relocation governance and executionPerforms Administrator on-call supportOpen tickets with vendors for video related issuesEngage vendors, Engineering, and Application Development teams as neededEngages in system change management process for collision avoidance and risk assessmentProvides virtual support of video systems architecture and software elementsApplies security patches and manages software revision control, inventory systems, drivers, and associated databasesQualifications:Minimum:Where permitted by applicable law, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for this U.S.

(Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will be considered.)5+ years of experience in Cable TV operationsExperience with Digital Broadband DistributionExperience of Video engineering protocols and delivery systemsExperience in the deployment of advanced video networks and productsExperience in RF troubleshooting and MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 protocolsKnowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows operating systemsKnowledge of Internet Protocols, RAID systems, and Systems securityExcellent organizational, analytical, trouble shooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well under pressure and commit to meeting strict deadlinesAbility to work with multiple departments to solve complex technical problemsAbility to work independently, with minimal supervision or guidance Ability to accommodate a highly flexible and varied work schedule-Preferred:B.S.
