Counsel – Supply Chain

Inspire Brands

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted October 20, 2021.

This position will provide legal services and counseling in support of Inspire Brands’ Supply Chain teams, including supporting supply chain, distribution, and procurement initiatives across a portfolio of brands.

This valued team member will work closely with our internal teams, outside law firms, and service providers to provide legal solutions for complex business issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution and closing of projects with respect to a wide variety of agreements, including vendor, supplier, distribution or services agreements

• Participate in business, operational and strategic decisions; develop and negotiate contracts and work with leadership on completing transactional objectives; seek process improvements and added efficiencies in the legal shared services organization

• Provide advice and counsel to cross functional teams in support of business and franchisee objectives including developing strategies for handling legal issues and building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly

• Provide advice on select supply chain, procurement and distribution activities, including interfacing with, quality assurance, finance, accounting, information technology, HR and external subject matter experts, as necessary

• Responsible for managing and overseeing outside counsel in connection with certain food safety and regulatory matters within the parameters set by the General Counsel and/or Associate General Counsel

• Ensure that standard forms of Inspire Brands’ legal documents are updated as necessary/desirable to reflect current best practices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S.

law school required

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the U.S

• Four (4) or more years of practice in a law firm or corporation representing public and/or private companies with respect to supply chain, procurement, distribution and complex transactional matters

• Food safety experience is preferred, but not required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

• Detailed knowledge of, and competence in advising clients with respect to, complex commercial agreements, with an emphasis on facilitating transactions with key vendors and suppliers

• Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating definitive agreements and related documents customary in supply chain and procurement transactions, including transactional, licensing, vendor, supplier, distribution and services agreements from start to finish with limited supervision

• Displays excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.

• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and clearly communicating legal strategies and requirements to/for non-lawyer colleagues

• In-depth knowledge and experience in commercial legal matters related to a global enterprise with multiple brands, units and locations

• Ability to integrate and balance priorities for the benefit of multiple internal clients

• Ability to understand key drivers of the supply chain function and assist internal business clients with their review of agreements to ensure that appropriate business requirements are captured

• Ability to lead cross functional projects/teams to impact long-term legal strategies

• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment with respect to highly complex projects, contracts, and transactions in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
