n n nn Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Counsel, Litigation to join our team.

This position is based in Beachwood, OH.

nn nn As a member of the Eaton Litigation team, Counsel
– Litigation will have responsibility for overseeing litigation throughout North America and will report to the Vice President & Chief Counsel
– Litigation.

This team member will oversee and conduct pre-litigation investigations, manage outside counsel, and work with corporate and sector leadership to resolve matters.

Counsel – Litigation will also track and regularly present on litigation trends, create and execute trainings on legal issues impacting operations, and utilize key metrics to drive case resolution.

nn nn In this role you will: nn Manage multiple litigation and claims for all of divisions of the company, which will involve a wide variety of matters in multiple jurisdictions.

Develop an early case assessment for each matter, prepares and updates case evaluations that discuss the facts, claims and strategy to defend and resolve each matter.

Interact daily with outside counsel and develops and enforces strategies and budgets for each matter with outside counsel that most effectively and efficiently meet the goals for each matter.

Prepare requests for settlement authority and communicates to management regarding case strategy.

Coordinate and prepare responses to discovery, identifies key witnesses and manages the discovery process.

Implement litigation initiatives and tracks metrics.

Drive change and execute on any lessons learned and best practices.

Present to legal and business leadership regarding case strategy and litigation initiatives nQualificationsn nn Basic Qualifications: nn Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school Licensed attorney in good standing Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience (law firm or in-house) Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an on-going basis without Company sponsorship nn Preferred Qualifications nn 3-5 years of trial experience is preferred nn Position Criteria nn Subject matter expertise in product liability, motor vehicle accident, toxic tort or complex commercial litigation.

Excellent communication and presentation skills and possess the ability to interact with all levels of executives and professionals.

Ability to work well in a team environment and interact with internal and external business partners.

Ability to exercise independent judgment, and to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business clients in a collaborative environment to achieve stated business objectives.
