Cortina Specialist (2nd & 3rd Shift)

Operator may be required to prepare ingredients for mixing and to learn to operate equipment such as, but not limited to, Ishida and/or Triangle scales, Fresco bagger, case erector, case sealer, x-ray checker, check-weigher, and palletizer.

Person will be required to follow the recipes and process instructions.

You will be required to work in a room at 30 degrees Fahrenheit, with occasional short periods in a zero degree room, scraping scales for conveyors or scales.

Set-up / Start-up

Report to assigned work-station and complete batches already in progress or start new batches according to work orders.

Set-up all equipment according to the product being run.

Sets controls to the proper setting in accordance with the work order and recipe. 

Check work orders, recipes, ingredient inventory and code numbers. 

Obtain Supplies

Perform safety check on any equipment to be used in the daily operations and insure that all other safety devices are functioning properly and turn-in check sheets as required. 

Obtain pallets of ingredients from staging with a power jack using first in/first out process and transport to work station as required. 

Change Film Rolls

Obtain a roll of film from the pallet with the film cart and position to the machine roller. 

Manually remove and secure roller bar (15lb).

Monitor

Monitor all equipment according to the production run. 

Troubleshoot machinery and equipment and make minor adjustments and repairs as required.

Check and clear in jams, clean the bar, bump rework and complete any quality check as required.

Clean-up

Turn in any paperwork.

Perform general housekeeping duties, place trash in bins and maintain a safe work area.

Secure tools, equipment and machinery, and complete all required paperwork.

Inspect production equipment and area.

Put on all required Personal Protection Equipment and Safety Gear. 

Ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and chemicals are available in the work area.

Preform LOTO on production equipment, cover all electrical equipment.
