We are seeking a full-time Process Automation Engineer III, aka Controls Engineer III , for our clients in the Boston region.
We are headquartered just one hour south of Chicago since 1990 with additional offices in Indianapolis, IN, and Raleigh, NC .
This role will have an opportunity for further advancement to Principal Process Automation Engineer as described in E2i’s promotion plan.
We are looking to add to our already talented team in the New England Division!
We are looking for someone with strong work experience in DCSs ( DeltaV specifically ), PLCs, HMIs, and SCADAs.
This person will work directly with clients at client sites.

Location & Travel:
- Primary Location: Greater Boston, MA Area
- Up to 25% Travel: Occasional Travel to E2i’s other offices for short-term projects, commissioning activities, and training courses
Your Role’s Responsibilities:
- Building good relationships with customers
- Designing, implementing, and supporting PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment
- Designing, implementing, and supporting electrical hardware systems
- Understanding manufacturing processes and process instrumentation
- Investigating and solving complex problems
- Demonstrating solid rapport with clients, peers, and supervisors
- Addressing on-call requests as needed
- Being a self-starter that can work both independently and in team-based project environments
- Remaining a minimum of 80% billable with leadership and sales assistance
What You Need for this Position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field
- 5-10 years of experience in process control and automation
- 5-10 years of experience in programming/developing/configuring DeltaV, PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA software for control systems (experience with Rockwell, FactoryTalk View SE/ME; iFix, PlantPAx, PCS7, Siemens, or Wonderware is a plus)
- Ability to support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
- Ability to address on-call requests as needed
