We are looking for a Controls Engineer for our plant in Litchfield, Michigan to contribute to our Clean Air business group.
This position will lead new controls/plant automation projects, champion Best Methods teams and standardization processes.
It will also provide support to all areas (Engineering – advanced, program, or development, Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality, etc.) where controls engineering expertise is required, including launch support and customer initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute to and/or lead Advanced Engineering projects to develop new and/or improved processes and innovations to provide value for Tenneco.
Support Operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming Plant Automation.
Fulfill TMSS Technician role by championing and supporting Tenneco Machine Safety Standard policies and procedures Complete TMSS machine risk assessments per the TMSS guidelines and templates.
Create software requirements documentation, contribute to software peer reviews, conduct software unit testing and participate in software validation requirements definition.
Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand job knowledge and skills and network with professional colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
Responsible for programming and designing Allen Bradley Logic PLC controls for new equipment.
Ability to add poke yoke sensors to automated and manual equipment; integrate hardware and software Perform and lead new product analysis and predictive tools and evaluation techniques.
Modify existing and new robot programs for process improvement.
Design, diagnose and troubleshoot vision applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering At least three years of experience designing and programming Allen Bradley Logic PLC controls systems.
Strong electrical/mechanical/programming troubleshooting skills Experience working with Motoman Robot and Fanuc software and programming MIG and TIG welding experience (manual and automated)
