Contractor Business Intelligence Analyst

Overview: Position Summary:We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.

In this role, the candidate should have a background in data analysis within the context of defining business requirements analysis as well as excellent communication skills.

You will also support the development and use of data in AutoNations AWS Data Lake and Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse to build SQL queries for data analysis, validation, testing, and reporting activitiesOrganizational Relationships:IT Leadership: Managers, Directors, and senior DirectorsIT Teams: BI, QA, Security, DevOps, DBA, Architecture, Infrastructure, PMOProduct ownersProduct stakeholdersScrum team members: Developers, QA, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Project ManagerJob Responsibilities:Gain hands-on understanding of AutoNations key business functions and operations.Analyze data to drive business needs and technical specifications (Design, build and deploy BI solutions).Translate business vision into required functional capabilities through process modeling, current state assessment and gap analysis effortsPerform analysis on new data being added to the DW to understand how to integrate with existing data and identify data issuesAnalyze and identify data discrepancies within the Cloud DW and work with development team on resolutionDevelop data quality validations to ensure data accuracy and proactively identify data issuesEnsure that data governance standards are adhered to within the data warehouseSupport business users on data warehouse knowledge and query assistanceDevelop queries to analyze data based on business requirementsCollaborate with business teams to advance usage of the data warehouse across the businessQualifications:BA/BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience7 years of experience planning and delivering functional and technical solutions to support the business5 Years proven experience in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Proven ability to conduct data analysis and collaborate with business and development teams to design, and document analytics dashboards, alerts, and reports.Experience in modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques including using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the businessAbility to analyzes existing data sets to identify patterns, outliers, and areas of inconsistencies through relationships that exist in the dataDesign thinking, which enables synthesizing of many ideas into big-picture view that shows the connection between business intention and business actionExceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizationsChampion data governance and provide data that is accurate, congruent, and reliable, to ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems.Good understanding of Data Warehouse architecture and design and ETL processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and documentation skills Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or OracleExperience with cloud-based (AWS and Azure) database systems and environmentsThe ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to Technology and constraints to the businessAutomotive industry experience, including sales and service is preferredPhysical Requirements N/A
