Overview: Under the supervision of the Creative Director and in partnership with Hospital and Foundation marketing teams, the Senior Communications Specialist develops dynamic content strategies and ensures alignment to drive brand affinity and reputation, patient volumes, community engagement and fundraising.The Senior Communications Specialist manages the organizational content calendar and ensures alignment and coordination across business units.
Working closely with the Creative Director and other team leaders, the Communications Specialist guides content planning based on organizational goals and determines content needs.The Senior Communications Specialist is also responsible for content and asset development supporting core business units.
They will develop blog content, video scripts and ad copy, promotional and web copy for events and fundraising and social media content.
They will also assist with additional writing and editing projects needed.The Senior Communications Specialist serves as a key member of the social media team, maintaining the social content calendar in partnership with the Associate Director, Public Affairs and Communications and ensuring a strong content pipeline at all times for social media channels and the blog.
They will also analyze social media reporting and make content recommendations based on data.
Responsibilities: 1.
Develop, manage and update the organizational content calendar and ensure organizational alignment.2.
Develop content for core business units keeping in mind brand standards, organizational tone and audience.3.
Assist with writing and editing projects across the Hospital and Foundation.4.
Serve as a key member of the social media team, overseeing content strategy and development and making strategic recommendations based on data.5.
Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

Bachelors degree in Communications, English or Journalism required.

Strong writing and communications skills required.
Ability to identify strong stories required.3.
Two to five years of experience in communications or journalism, ideally in the non-profit sector with some experience in fundraising communications.
Familiarity with healthcare a plus.4.
Experience developing digital content for the web and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.5.
Experience providing communications support for fundraising events a plus.6.
Strong interpersonal, project management and organizational skills.7.
Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a team; attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines are essential.8.
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
