Communications Specialist

Douglas County is accepting applications for a 3 month pool (December 10, 2021 – March 11, 2022) for career oriented Communications Officers. The Center operates 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Job Requirements:

Essential functions of the job include: gathering, evaluating, prioritizing and documenting information; processing calls, including dispatching calls to the appropriate agencies; maintaining/monitoring radio communications with Police, Fire and EMS personnel; upholding confidentiality of information received; utilizing a multi-screen computer system, two-way radio, phone system, headset, and foot pedals while receiving/processing phone calls. Must pass mandatory background investigation, drug screen and hearing screen. Will be required to comply with shift work including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
